The aim and objectives of the OPITO Stage 4 competence reassessment are to establish that the candidate has maintained the competence requirement for the Rigger role.

Health & Care:

Chester Step Test

The test consists of the following:
• Consultation with a health professional
• Completion of the Chester Step Test
• Report compiled on the test findings
Duration: 0.1 day course

Chester Step Tests are a tried and testing means of gauging fitness, this is done by measuring the heart’s ability to recover from exertion. To achieve this, the test consists of stepping onto and off a 30 cm / 12 inch step at rate set by a metronome. During this test, your heart rate will be monitored and results will be plotted on a graph providing aerobic capacity and fitness.

Banksman and Slinger

Duration: 2 days course

This course is designed for people who involved with rigging & slinging, working with crane and provide necessary theoretical and practical knowledge regarding banksman and slinger roles.

Rigging and Lifting

Duration: 1 day course

The course is designed to train delegates the correct slinging of different types of loads, how to work safely with rigging equipment and how conduct inspection of the lifting equipment. The course is a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge regarding Rigger role.

Confined Space Entry

Duration: 1 day course

This course is aimed at those persons required to access confined spaces classified high risk spaces which includes non-standard entries involving complex operations which introduce additional risks and require specific controls and rescue arrangements e.g. mechanical hazards, physical complexity of system introduced hazards, specific hazards.

Confined Space Entry Escape BA

Duration: 1 day course

This course is aimed at those persons required to access confined spaces classified high risk spaces which includes non-standard entries involving complex operations which introduce additional risks and require specific controls and rescue arrangements e.g. mechanical hazards, physical complexity of system introduced hazards, specific hazards.

Working at height

Duration: 1 day course

The aim of the WAH course is to provide a personal with the basic knowledge about a safe work organization and procedures in accordance with standards. On the completion of the WAH course candidates will be able to demonstrate safe working culture and understanding of safety legislation, regulation, procedures and correctly use of WAH equipment.

Working at Height – Unit 2 PPE User

Duration: 1 day course

The course covers offshore safety requirements and UK EU regulations, Safe System of Work: Risk Assessment, PTW, TBT, Rescue plan etc.
The course provides basic knowledge and practice of safe use of various fall arrest equipment, proper PPE and additional WAH fitters, such as ladders, scaffolding and MEWPs.

Rigging Loft Management

Duration: 1 day course

This course is designed to train delegates how to manage and control lifting equipment. Delegates will be trained how to carry out inspection of lifting equipment in accordance with legislative, manufacturers and company requirements. The course is a mix of theoretical and practical session.

Safe Use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms

The one-day theory and practical training how to work Safely with the (MEWP) Cherry Picker is designed for people who are regularly use a cherry picker. On this training, delegates will get basic knowledge and practical skills how to work with a cherry picker both safely and efficiently. This training is both available as a basic and as a refresher course and can be completed with a BALTFORTAS Training certificate.
